Marianne began twirling at the age of thirteen and has been an avid member of the twirling world ever
since. She has been active with the NBTA and the Wisconsin Twirling Teachers and Judges Association
since retiring from competition. While competing, her teachers included Linda Horsman, Diane Czesak,
Cindy Kamnetz, and the late Betty Ann Gardetto.
One of her major contributions to the twirling world is completing all tabulation for the Wisconsin Miss
Majorette Competition. Her precision has ensured accuracy over the years. Other volunteer duties
include mentoring new tabulators, typing entries, running score sheets, and presenting awards.
Marianne has been a member of the Milwaukee Police Department since 1977. She was editor of the
Civilian Scene and a staff writer for both The Dispatch and The Badge. She also frequently contributes to
Drum Major Magazine. In addition to twirling, Marianne enjoys bowling, traveling, writing and bingo.
Marianne, we cannot thank you enough for all the love and unselfish dedication you have given to us
here in the State of Wisconsin. We are very proud that you have continued to be part of our Wisconsin
Twirling family!
